Love Never Fails Book

More than 30 years ago, Chris Milligan accepted a heartfelt challenge from his wife, Mary Alice: to write a fictional love story set during World War II in the Far East — one that would resonate with female readers. After several false starts, the project was set aside.

Now, decades later, Chris has fulfilled that promise with the publication of Love Never Fails — a moving novel of love and war in the Indian Ocean, written with Mary Alice in mind.

In recent years, Mary Alice was diagnosed with vascular dementia and is no longer able to read the story written for her. Throughout this journey, both Chris and Mary Alice have been deeply supported by the care and compassion of Joseph Brant Hospital since relocating to Burlington in 2015.

In honour of that support — and in tribute to the love that inspired his book — Chris is donating 50% of the net proceeds from Love Never Fails to support urgent priorities at Joseph Brant Hospital. His gift is both a personal gesture of gratitude and a meaningful investment in the health of his community.
