Angelo Paletta – Outstanding Volunteer in Philanthropy

We are proud to share that Angelo Paletta has been named the 2023 AFP Golden Horseshoe Outstanding Volunteer in Philanthropy, being recognized for his commitment to local healthcare.

Angelo is a passionate volunteer fundraiser for the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation, among other local charities.

In 2022, Angelo launched the HorsePower 4 Hospital (HP4H) event, combining his passion for philanthropy with his love for exotic cars. This family-friendly car show raised over $143,000 in its inaugural year, and more than $200,000 for the critical priorities of JBH in 2023. Angelo’s ability to blend his personal interests with fundraising efforts demonstrates his innovative approach to philanthropy.

In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic gripped the region, Angelo once again stepped up with his fundraising initiative he called MOVID-19. The challenge was simple: he wouldn’t shave until the community donated $25,000, which he and his wife, Darlene, would match. The response was overwhelming, with the community rallying behind the cause. Angelo doubled the challenge to $50,000, and with the matching gift the final tally exceeded $153,800.

Angelo’s selfless dedication, visionary leadership, and passionate commitment to community service make him a deserving recipient of the 2023 AFP Golden Horseshoe Outstanding Volunteer in Philanthropy award. His contributions have not only enriched the lives of countless individuals but have also inspired others to join the noble cause of giving back to their community.

Congratulations Angelo, and thank you for all you do for our hospital.
